It would certainly be helpful if someone would finally get the facts out. So Katie Bayne, Coca Cola's president of sparkling beverages in North America said: "At the same time obesity was rising between 1999 through 2010, beverage consumption of sugary drinks was dropping." She also said during the decade sugars from soda consumption fell 39 percent as the percentage of obese children rose 13 percent and obese adults 7 percent.
Doesn't anyone get it? I must admit with the FDA lying on aspartame, and the trade or professional organizations (Ladies of the evening who take money from the manufacturer) lying and the front groups, etc. there is a great effort to hide the facts about aspartame in Diet Coke, and other products. However, Coke knows and is skirting the issue.
When you use the words "Diet Coke" people think this is a diet product that will help you lose weight. I consider it deceitful since if you want to get fat aspartame is where its at. More and more people went from regular Coke to Diet Coke. They couldn't stop using it because its addicting. The free methyl alcohol is classified as a narcotic, causes chronic methanol poisoning. This affects the dopamine system of the brain and causes the addiction. They were hooked and like Coke said more and more people quit drinking soda with sugar. They would change over to Diet Coke thinking they would lose weight or at least not gain any. Just like Bayne said, "obese children rose 13 percent and obese adults 7 percent." I wouldn't be surprised if it was more than that. Consumers went to drinking a product that has caused an obesity epidemic.
Doesn't anyone look at study after study proving the link between diet soda and aspartame? Sharon Fowler had a couple of studies, University of Texas, and others. They link time after time diet pop to obesity. The culprit is aspartame. Dr. Alemany who did the Trocho Study mentioned below told me aspartame will murder 200 million people, probably has. Besides all the neurodegenerative diseases, seizures, birth defects, cancer, etc. aspartame causes obesity. It destroys the immune system, central nervous system, optic nerve and brain. It will even destroy your sex life since aspartame damages the hypothalamus and triggers male sexual dysfunction. It also ruins female response.
Read on by Dr. Sandra Cabot how aspartame makes you fatter. It also causes all kinds of psychiatric and behavioral problems. Mental hospitals are full of consumers who are only aspartame victims, and there they stay sipping diet soda and taking antidepressants, all of which interact with aspartame. Aspartame affects the front lobes first and when consumers are no longer rational its like talking to someone who has had a lobotomy. It's difficult to get them off the poison.
"Mayor Bloomberg will you please do research on the issue. If you want to prevent the $4 billion the city spends annually because of the obesity crisis outlaw aspartame and Diet Coke all together. You will be amazed at the difference. Here in Atlanta, home of Coca Cola, thousands and thousands of Killer Cola brochures were distributed with some of the worst articles on aspartame, from it being a biochemical warfare agent to how it kills humans. People got off of aspartame simply because of reading the articles. Then after about 60 days people all over the city began waking up well from horrendous medical problems they had been going to doctors for years about. They had no idea the culprit was aspartame. They came in the organic market and health food store that had been giving out the brochure by the thousands. You would think you were in the resurrection - the crippled could walk, the blind could see, seizure victims were no longer having seizures, diabetic symptoms disappeared and MS victims were walking out of wheelchairs. I opened the door of my home and a woman fell into my arms saying, "I was blind and now I can see".
"Consider millions waking up well from their horrible afflictions and knowing what poisoned them, as happened in Atlanta. The manufacturers have been able to prevent recall because of their power and bottomless checkbooks. They are selling a cash cow, an addictive excitoneurotoxic, carcinogenic, genetically engineered drug and adjuvant that damages the mitochondria and interacts with drugs and vaccines -- a deadly, deadly, deadly chemical poison. They horror of the thought of one day having to pay the penalty for what Dr. James Bowen says is 'mass poisoning of the American public and over 70 countries of the world'. We call it genocide and it come under Title 18 of the domestic genocide code. Dr. Bowen has Lou Gehrigs from it."
Editor, you can get this message to the Mayor!! Explain it to him. Read on this letter to Prince Charles about a youngster drinking diet Coke because the school like Bloomberg thought it was the sugar pop making kids obese and removed all the sugar pop leaving nothing for them to drink but deadly aspartame Diet/Light Coke. This can happen in New York. Tell the Mayor the removal of aspartame could save "trillions!!!!!!!!!" in health care......! Or at least publish the facts!

I have been a medical doctor for over 25 years and have clinical and research interests in the liver and metabolism. I have authored several best selling health books including the "Liver Cleansing Diet", "The Body Shaping Diet", "Don't Let Your Hormones Ruin Your Life", "Women's Health", "Menopause and Natural Hormone Replacement Therapy" and I lecture internationally on these subjects. In the interests of public health I am making a position statement concerning the use of the artificial sweetener called aspartame and sold most commonly under the names of NutraSweet and Equal. One must ask, "why do millions of people ingest a toxic chemical like aspartame everyday"? To me it appears ridiculous and I believe that it is because people have been brainwashed into thinking aspartame will keep their weight down and is good for health. It also shows me that we have lost touch with our own natural senses and instincts.
After having been consulted by thousands of overweight people suffering with problems concerning the liver and/or metabolism I can assure you that aspartame will not help you in any way, indeed it will help you to gain unwanted weight. This has been my experience, and there are logical reasons to explain the fattening and bloating effects of aspartame. When you ingest the toxic chemical aspartame it is absorbed from the intestines and passes immediately to the LIVER where it is taken inside the liver via the liver filter. The liver then breaks down or metabolizes aspartame to its toxic components - phenylalanine, aspartic acid and methanol. This process requires a lot of energy from the liver which means there will be less energy remaining in the liver cells. This means the liver cells will have less energy for fat burning and metabolism, which will result in fat storing. Excess fat may build up inside the liver cells causing "fatty liver" and when this starts to occur it is extremely difficult to lose weight. In my vast experience any time that you overload the liver you will increase the tendency to gain weight easily.
Aspartame also causes weight gain by other mechanisms ---Causes unstable blood sugar levels, which increases the appetite and causes cravings for sweets/sugar. Thus it is particularly toxic for those with diabetes or epilepsy. Causes fluid retention giving the body a puffy and bloated appearance. This makes people look fatter than they are and increases cellulite.

Also with regard to obesity and aspartame, the Trocho Study in Barcelona in l998 showed that the formaldehyde converted from the free methyl alcohol accumulates in the cells and damages DNA with most toxicity in the liver but substantial toxicity in the adipose tissue or fat cells. Further a recent epidemiological study by Sharon Fowler at the University of Texas in 2005 linked diet drinks with obesity.
In the Congressional Record, Senate, S - 5511, May 7, l985, and part of the protest of the National Soft Drink Assn, now American Beverage, is this Statement:
"Aspartame has been demonstrated to inhibit the carbohydrate-induced synthesis of the neurotransmitter serotonin (Wurtman affidavit). Serotonin blunts the sensation of craving carbohydrates and this is part of the body's feedback system that helps limit consumption of carbohydrate to appropriate levels. Its inhibition by aspartame could lead to the anomalous result of a diet product causing increased consumption of carbohydrates."
So as far as product liability is concerned you have companies marketing an addictive excitoneurotoxic carcinogenic drug to the population as a sugarfree diet product knowing full well this is causing obesity. They also know that aspartame is addictive and that the methanol component is classified as a narcotic. Aspartame liberates free methyl alcohol causing chronic methanol poisoning. This affects the dopamine system of the brain causing the addiction.

Im writing again to Your Royal Highness about aspartame. [Canderel/NutraSweet/Equal/ E951] Forty-seven MPs have signed to have it banned.

Subject: Accused Of Drug Use By School - Aspartame Allergic Reaction
Aspartame ruined my relationship with my family and I wasn't trusted at school, now I hate them for what they put me through. The school decided that sugar soft drinks were bad for the students health so decided to remove all but the diet products from the cafeteria, I personally enjoy a sugar infused cola that has a taste diet drinks lack, they taste too artificial.
I started to drink the diet cola, I had no bad effects for a couple of days. Then by the next week, half an hour after lunch I would get severe itching in my legs and arms, so much so that it left blood marks in scratch lines across my limbs, I tried so hard not to start scratching as I couldn't stop them for about an hour if I started.
To make matters worse I would also slur my speech, still unaware of what was going on. The second week my parents were called in and I was told that I would be under supervision at all times in school and my parents were not going to let me leave the house, they proceed to rip apart my room and have me sleep on the floor in their room.
Why? I was being accused of using Crystal Meth !!! I hope you can even imagine how I felt about all this, I huddled up in a corner crying at one point wishing I wasn't born. I spent lunch in the corner of the staff room with a bag of crisps and my diet coke, again as soon as I left the room for lessons I itched like crazy. I have to miss out some details here because they upset me so much.
After being drug tested for a couple of days, police interrogating me, asking me who the dealer was and referring me to a shrink which I saw for another week, all this was going on, my life was so bad I just wanted to die. This is where I met someone I will never forget, The Janitor. He saw me and said "are you alright there son"? I just started crying, so he took me to the supply room, sat me on a box and I poured out my heart to him, I clicked the ring pull on my drink and took a large gulp, He just stared at the can for what seemed like forever.
He snatched it off me, grabbed my shirt and pulled me up to the Headmasters office, he kicked in the door and started screaming at the headmaster. I was all over the place I felt so dizzy, emotional ,tired and out of it and I still didn't really know what the hell was going on. He smashed down the can and the diet coke sprayed all over the Head's desk.
I caught bits of the conversation, - It's the xxxx in these drinks - It doesn't take a genius to work that out for God's sake - Don't you know what's in this. From here on he started on about his daughter having PKU and aspartame, he finished with reminding the head in front of about 20 staff surrounding outside the door where i was now stood, that the school in fact was responsible for my problems by removing sugar drinks from the cafeteria and was liable, and should expect to be sued.
He calmed down came out and walked me outside, he gave me his phone to ring my parents who then came to the school. The rest is history!!! I would like to thank Mark Winslow, the Janitor who actually saved my life, God knows what I would have done if he hadn't stepped in. We did gain a settlement from the school and gave a generous sum to Mark as he did lose his job and was unemployed for a couple of weeks. He and his family now regularly meet up with us in the summer for BBQ's and we couldn't ask for better friends.
I hope my experience is of benefit to others, I think my reaction must have been very severe but if it can do that to you then it shouldn't be in our foods. Matthew Hobson.
When you visited Florida you dined with Dr. H. J. Roberts and his wife, Carol, who gave The Princess of Wales the key to the city of West Palm Beach. Dr. Roberts is the world expert on aspartame, declared it a global plague and published the 1038 page medical text, Aspartame Disease: An Ignored Epidemic, which he dedicated to me.
Im enclosing a copy of the prestigious Ecologist with a 17 page feature on it, and I believe you already have the aspartame documentary, Sweet Misery: A Poisoned World. In it attorney James Turner explains how Rumsfeld got it approved after the FDA said no. As late as 1995 FDA published a list of 92 reactions to aspartame from over 10,000 volunteered complaints. Aspartame can precipitate diabetes, aggravate and simulate diabetic retinopathy and neuropathy, destroy the optic nerve, cause diabetic convulsions, and interacts with insulin. It also makes you crave carbohydrates so you gain weight.

Last month I visited a researcher in Barcelona who was threatened by the NutraSweet Company for exposing the pre-embalming by aspartame.
. Schools mistakenly advocate diet drinks exclusively. Matthews case is no doubt repeated by thousands of innocent children in UK schools. Neurosurgeon Russell Blaylock, M.D., explains that reactions to aspartame are not allergic but toxic like arsenic and cyanide. Im inclosing his lecture on aspartame.
This isn't a rare case. Dr. Baret called me from the Dominican Republic. He changed the diet of 360 small children from milk to aspartame juice and almost all of them responded with abnormal behavior, cognitive problems. Knowing this was the only change he had made he re-searched aspartame and called me. I had him remove the toxin from their diet and four days later all the children returned to normal. It is clear that if this insane practice is not stopped Matthews case will become the norm.
Because of the horror of this decision several authorities have written new reports on the effects of aspartame on the brains of the unborn and children. Aspartame is a teratogen and causes birth defects and mental retardation. If the child survives and it damages the thymus gland it can have autoimmune problems all the days of his life and the DNA is probably damaged generations to come. It lowers IQ and triggers psychiatric and behavioral problems, and also interacts with medications. So no drug is safe for an aspartame consumer. The Italian Ramazzini Study has confirmed what FDA knew from the beginning, that aspartame is a multipotential carcinogen. This is a foremost European research center.
The tale of how aspartame got approved in England may be unknown to Your Royal Highness: G. D. Searle Co knew they couldnt get it in other countries if it was known our FDA tried to have them indicted for fraud. They made a deal with a Professor Paul Turner in Food Standards who approved aspartame without anyone knowing. No studies were ever done in the UK. Parliament discovered it, and their dismay was reported in The Guardian. Nevertheless, approval wasnt rescinded.
Today there are efforts worldwide to recall aspartame. Im enclosing my just released story in Health Freedom News which magazine goes to all Congressmen.
Robin Goodwins Falkland Island heartrending story is attached. His wife had an aspartame brain tumor and his daughter suffered seizures daily for 18 years until they learned aspartame caused them.
Your Royal Highness, I ask you to save many lives in the UK by removing aspartame and the aspartame manufacturers. I know you are against genetic engineering. This is a GM product. I look forward to your reply and help for the people of England.

Dr. James Bowen began slurring his words and was thought to either be on alcohol or drugs. He was admitted to a mental hospital but in the hospital he was no longer on aspartame and the symptoms disappeared. He wrote:
"I started using Aspartame in April 1983, when the Aspartame Lo Cal Kool Aid was first marketed. In 2 days it gave me a toxic cardiomyopathy so severe I had to then stop swimming. I then immediately lost my balance, so also had to immediately also stop going off the diving board. Deep chemical depression followed, terminating in Lou Gehrig's disease. In just six weeks of use it aged me thirty years! When I stopped using it I had many severe withdrawal symptoms, and was then diagnosed as Bulbar Palsy.
MY RN wife was screaming at me: "Jim get off the Aspartame! It is killing you!" (I was so completely brain washed by Aspartame, that I could not even believe her!
Aspartame is very highly crafted poison, cleverly combining about ten different poisons, including :1. phenylalanine isolate poisoning. (Not all alike with dietary sources!), 2. The methyl ester-formaldehyde-formic acid- carbon monoxide toxic axis. 3.Methylated aspartic acid , (An extreme excitotoxin, implemented in many and vast brain damages! Including the common neural degenerative diseases!) 4. Diketopiperazine poisoning: Which the first toxicity studies (at 1/1000 the FDA legally requisite test dosage for only sixty days,) caused the highest incidence of brain tumor in rats that any chemical ever tested at any dosage ever caused.(The first 6 months of Aspartame soft drinks, saw a 10% increase in USA human brain cancers rates, and a 30% jump of our diabetes occurrence rate!)
When the FDA first refused licensure for Aspartame they did so, because it rapidly chelates poisonous metals out of containers and then carries them on in a totally absorbable condition, it couldnt be proven safe and triggered brain tumors. It also triggered many other types of tumors from mammary to testicular. It should be noted that Pepsi and Coke delivery drivers certify that sugar pops never damage their cans, while Aspartame beverages frequently do.)"
